ALPENGOLD SHOWBAND
MUSIC KNOWS NO BOUNDS – This is the philosophy of our group of some 30 musicians who meet weekly to rehearse a wide variety of music in order to provide programmes for concerts, clubs, associations, fetes, and fund raising for charities. Their repertoire, which varies widely, includes marches, light classics, Broadway and West End productions, and carols.
The members come from a wide variety of backgrounds from countries within the EU. Their standard of musicianship ranges from ex school band players through to military and ex professional. They welcome new players with some experience, preferably with a minimum playing standard of Grade 5 (see details below for enquiries).
Ian Vine, the Musical Director, endeavours to attain a high standard of playing by utilizing the skills he has achieved throughout his musical career. As an army musician in the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, he travelled all around the world before finally moving to Spain in January 2006.
The band rehearses every Tuesday from 1300 to 1500 at the Centro de Social at San Miguel.
