Excellent opportunity for a Foreman to join a major marine engineering firm in Gibraltar. You must speak a high level of both English & Spanish along with experience of coordinating work and decision making with regard to propeller / shafting / thrusters / rudder works. Main duties will include tailshaft survey, consisting in the knowledge of removing / replacing of propeller, intermediate shaft and tailshaft for cleaning and survey of stern gland (up to 650 diameter shafts and propellers up to 40T. Rudder 30T). Suspending / Lowering propeller to dock bottom and transport to / from workshop. Renewing of simplex seal / assistance to makers reps. Erecting chrome - steel bushes. Magnaflux testing of tailshaft taper. Testing of propeller hubs and blades. Disconnection / re-reconnection of rudders for pintle / bush renewals or for access for tailshaft withdrawal & steering gear works. In addition the successful candidate must have good knowledge of other mechanical works such as main engines, sea valves, pumps, winches, etc
