The latest Town Council meeting in Alboraya ended in chaos after a group of people arrived in the council chamber carrying banners against the requalification of a certain area of land so that it could be turned into a new commercial centre.

Equally, supporters of Mayor Manuel Alvaro of the Partido Popular showed their opposition to the protesters, stating that none of them were from Alboraya at all and had merely come to cause chaos.

Municipal police escorted the mayor into a police car for his mown protection, whilst another member of the Town Council, who is several months pregnant, found herself in the middle of a ring of protesters
