Her fifteen year old brother managed to rescue their two year old brother while their parents were injured when they jumped from a first floor window around seven metres from the ground.

Four firemen were also injured, but none seriously so. One of them suffered facial burns while the other three were injured when the second storey floor gave way beneath them.

The blaze started shortly after midnight last night at the family's three storey home in the town of San Juan de la Rambla (Tenerife). The dead girl's parents explained that they were unable to rescue their daughter whose bedroom was some distance from theirs.
