A police patrol, made up of agents in civilian clothes managed to detain a car that was driving wildly on the N-332 main road through Benidorm early on Sunday morning, colliding with several signals, before coming to a halt.

Four men got out of the car and two of them fled the scene whilst the other two wrestled with the police, who eventually managed to subdue them. 

As a result of the fight, both the policemen and the detainees were examined in a local hospital before being taken to then Benidorm police station, where they were identified as two Moldavians aged 19 and 26.

Meanwhile, the car which had been stolen in Alicante earlier this month and "hot wired" by the detainees, contained a large amount of material that had apparently just been stolen from a computer store in Alfas del Pi.
