| Firemen were called in to help out in Alicante yesterday after a 45 year old woman who needed hospitalisation was unable to leave her apartment in the Camino de Ronda.
After getting her onto a stretcher, the fire brigade attached it to one of their specialized lifts and gently lowered her to the ground, where she was transferred to an ambulance.
The reason: the woman weighed 230kg (more than 36 stone) , suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and was physically unable to either use the lift or the stairs of the apartment block. |
