| Argentinian doctor, Raul Senderowicz (archive photo), has been convicted to serve three years in jail, and will be unable to practice medicine for a further four years after that, for the death of Debora Catalan in January 2002 during routine liposuction surgery.
His co-defendant, María Victoria Bonne, who assisted during the operation, was found not guilty at the Penal court in Madrid.
Dr Senderowicz must also pay €70,000 in compensation to his victim's father and €10,000 to each of her six brothers and sisters.
Both defendants had pleaded not guilty at their trial at the end of last month and Dr Senderowicz also claimed that his patient was still alive when paramedics arrived on the scene. |
