| Two maintenance men were injured this morning while carrying out routine repairs to the underground car park at Murcia's Reina Sofia Hospital.
It seems that the two men had left the cover off the entrance to the hospital's drainage system while they went for their mid-morning break, which led to an accumulation of methane gas, which exploded when they turned on the lights as they returned to resume work.
The two men, who are employed by the Ferroser company, suffered superficial burns to between 8-10% of their bodies, and have been admitted to the Burns Unit at Arrixaca Hospital.
Regional Health minister, Teresa Herranz, explained to journalists that the accident, which occurred on the second floor of the underground car park, has not caused any disruptions to the hospital's normal routine. |
