| Regional Territory minister, Esteban Gonzalez Pons, was present as several small sea turtles were released into the Mediterranean last Friday. They had been recovered somewhat injured from El Saler and were recuperating at the Oceanografic.
The species is in danger of extinction, and the Valencian government has put measures in place to ensure the protection of the breed.
However, the main food of this particular sea turtle is jellyfish and it is hoped that nature will combat nature in an effort to diminish the current plague around the beaches of the region.
More than 200 of this species of sea turtle have been recovered and are recuperating at various installations in Valencia. |
