| The Spanish charity worker kidnapped in Gaza yesterday has said that he has no plans to return to Spain following his ten hour ordeal. 34 year old Roberto Vila from Ourense explained that he has spoken to his parents and friends since his release and informed them of his intention to return to his home of two years in the city of Ramala, and return to work tomorrow for the Peace Cooperation Assembly non-governmental organisation.
A spokesman for the family explained that Roberto had been very well treated by his captors with whom he had spoken a lot. One even promised to let him phone his parents in Galicia to let them know he was alright, but then a new shift took over and nothing more was said. Mr Vila was phlegmatic about the incident, when he said that "it's well known that this sort of thing happens in the area, and I was not surprised."
Mr Vila was kidnapped yesterday afternoon at gunpoint by four hooded men, who bundled him into a car, and sped away to an unconfirmed destination.
The photo, which was taken in Joran two years ago, was supplied by Mr Vila's family. |
