| A judge at Palencia provincial court has fined a pedestrain for causing an accident in which a motorcyclist sustained serious injuries to his right knee.
The judge ruled that, by suddenly rushing into the path of the motorcyclist where there was no crossing, the pedstrain had acted irresponsibly.
The motorcyclist required surgery for torn anterior cruciate ligaments as well as a fractured tibia which he sustained when he fell off his bike after having to brake suddenly to avoid hitting the pedestrain.
The prosecution was brought by the motorcyclist, whose case was upheld by the judge, who fined the pedestrain €90 for causing the accident, €13,197,97 in compensation and €485,16 in court costs. |
