| Two homemade bombs exploded at cashpoint machines in La Rioja last night.
The first went off at around 9.45pm at the branch of the Caja Laboral on the corner of the calles Vara de Rey and Miguel Villanueva in the centre of the regional capital, Logroño, causing substantial material damage (photo).
The second followed around fifteen minutes later at the Ibercaja branch in Albelda, shattering windows.
The perpetrators daubed the slogan 'Allah is great!' on the outside of both banks, but La Rioja MP, José Antonio Ulecia, declined to speculate about who may have been responsible for the attacks until the results of the investigation become available.
TEDAX bomb squad experts believe that the devices were made using some kind of inflammable liquid and detonators. |
