| A 67 year old man from León who has lived in Mexico City for the past 27 years is still missing after disappearing mysteriously two weeks ago.
The missing man, Julio López Rubín, who worked as a sales manager for the Inoxcrom department store chain failed to arrive at a business meeting with one of his clients in the Santa Fe district on Monday the 16th April.
At first, the family thought he had been kidnapped, but neither the man's wife, María Teresa Benito, nor either of the couple's children, 26 year old Almudena López Benito who lives in Tarragona nor 24 year old María José who lives in Mexico, have been contacted.
In Mexico City, which has a population of more than eight million people, so-called "express" kidnappings, whereby the hostage's family is asked to pay a ransom within hours of capture, are relatively common.
Mexican police and the Spanish Embassy have been informed and are searching for the missing man's car; a VW Pointer. |
