A woman from Lazkao in Guipúzcoa province is still not completely recovered after eating a rotten tin of artichokes from Peru between the 29-30th December last year.

Diagnosed with botulism, the woman was admitted to the intensive care unit of Donostia Hospital unable to speak and with total muscle paralysis.

Although visibly better than she was, the woman remains in hospital and continues to suffer some unpleasant symptoms.
