A 25 year old seafood fisherman died after being hit by a ray of lightning at around 10.45am this morning on Malandar Beach in Almonte (Huelva).

The man, who was from Arcos de la Frontera, lived in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, both of which are in neighbouring Cádiz province.

An emergency medical was called in, but they were unable to revive the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
