The dead body of a 53 year old man who was reported missing fifteen days ago, was found today under a bridge in Añcoy (Alicante).

The discovery was made this morning under La Petxina bridge in the town's Ensanche district.

A police spokesman explained that the body showed no obvious signs of violence and was found near the water's edge among dense vegetation.

The same source said that the body was badly decomposed, suggesting that the man probably died soon after his disappearance.

An autopsy will be performed tomorrow to confirm the cause of death.

A meeting has been arranged this evening with the missing man's family to explain the police's preliminary findings.
