| The pilot of a helicopter transporting a large log walked away uninjured after a failure in the log-release mechanism caused it to crash to earth from a height of around 25 metres.
An eye-witness from the Pyrenean town of Senz (Huesca), where the accident occurred at around 11.15am this morning, recounted how he heard a large crash as the helicopter plunged onto the main road to Viu and broke up into three pieces.
The pilot, who works for a private company contracted to install an electricity cable for Endesa, was transporting the 14 metre-long log from nearby woods. |
