Two 18 year old Rumanian nationals were arrested by the Guardia Civil in Talarrubias (Badajoz) during the early hours of this morning shortly after admitting their already-dead two year old daughter to Siberida-Serena Hospital.

They were called in by staff at the hospital after widespread bruising and multiple injuries were detected on the dead girl's body.

The couple's other two year old daughter is being looked after at the Pedro Valdivia child care centre in Villanueva de la Serena.

The results of an autopsy carried out today to determine cause of death, have not yet been confirmed.
