| An ambulance driver, who was caught on radar travelling at 90km an hour on an urban stretch of the N-625 in Cangas de Onís (Oviedo) where the limit is 50km an hour, has been fined €418 euros, has had six points put on his licence and has been banned from driving for 30 days.
Manuel Angel Fernandez Soto insists that he was responding to an emergency call and had the siren and emergency flashing lights activated when he was caught on an unmanned roadside camera on the 18th September.
A Traffic Department spokesman explained that the driver would have been able to appeal the conviction, but it had been impossible to track him down at the address provided by his employers at Ambulancias del Principado SL. |
