In a joint operation involving the National Police and the Guardia Civil, five individuals suspected of taking part in recent incidents of 'kale borroka' street violence were arrested yesterday at five addresses in Burlada (Navarra).

Searches of the detainees' homes were undertaken as well as at two local fish markets.

Three of the arrests were made by the National Police with the remaining two being made by the Guardia Civil.

This is the fourth operation against 'kale borroka' separatist-inspired acts of vandalism since last summer. Including these five, sixteen arrests have now been made after four on the 7th November and seven on the 30th October.
