| A 30 year old Russian woman murdered by her Spanish ex-boyfriend in Alicante last weekend had refused his proposal of marriage live on Spanish TV last Wednesday. The couple, who split up a month ago, appeared on the 'Diario de Patricia' in an unsuccessful attempt to achieve a reconciliation.
It has since emerged that the victim's ex-boyfriend (photo), a 30 year old local man whose identity has not been confirmed, had been convicted to serve 11 months in jail for abusing her and banned from going within half a kilometre of her for two years, although the sentence was pending final confirmation and had not been executed.
It seems that the man went to the woman's new address near the Plaza de Santa Teresa at around 7pm last Sunday evening and stabbed her several times in the neck after a violent row.
The woman was taken to Alicante General Hospital where she died of her injuries on Monday.
Her 2 year old son has been placed in the care of the regional welfare department. |
