By a vote of 13 in favour and two against, judge Adelina Entrena from Motril court in Grandad province, has been disbarred by the General Judicial Power Council (CGPJ) for forgetting to release three prisoners.

One of them, a man cleared of a robbery charge, went on to spend 437 days behind bars as a result. Two others needlessly spent 35 and 38 locked up after similar blunders.

Last October, Ms Entrena had been suspended by the Judicial Disciplinary Committee for five months for using her position to obtain "unjustifiable advantages," and for showing favouritism towards one of her former partners.
