A 71 year old man from the La Riojan town of Baños de Río Tobía died after being accidentally shot by his son-in-law as they were hunting rabbits this morning. The incident occurred at around 11am as the two men were descending towards a gully in woods on the outskirts of the town.

It seems that the younger man, who is now being treated for shock, slipped on the frosty ground, discharging his weapon as he landed on his backside, hitting his father-in-law, who was already dead when emergency medics arrived at the scene.
