The president of the Costa da Morte Athletics Club in Fisterra (A Coruña) was arrested at his mother's home in Áviles late last Tuesday evening accused of sexually abusing various young athletes in his care.

Prior to his arrest, Guardia Civil officers investigating complaints made independently by the parents of several young children, had searched the man's home - a property in Fisterra owned by one of his aunts - from where they confiscated a substantial quantity of documentation.
