| Around four dozen restaurants have joined an initiative being promoted by Avila town council to provide menus in braille for their blind customers.
Local mayor, Miguel Angel García Nieto, explained that the aim of the scheme is to "build a town for everyone," and urged more local businesses to take the necessary steps to achieve the international accessibility badge.
For his part, José Antonio Martín de la Parra, from ONCE's Avila office, said "any measures such as this one are positive," adding that the scheme will enable blind people "to become less dependent on others." |
