| A 29 year old Ecuadorian man, Danny Efrain LC, mowed down a married couple on the Torre de Claramunt residential estate in Barcelona last Sunday afternoon, killing a 59 year old man and seriously injuring the victim's wife.
Afterwards, he smashed into several parked cars before being stopped by the police and testing positive for alcohol for the second time that day.
Earlier, at 7am in the morning, he was found to have double the permitted amount of alcohol in a breath test conducted by regional police officers, who issued an on-the-spot fine and confisctaed his car keys.
However, the man carried on drinking and recovered his car keys from a friend who had picked up his car.
In the second test, he was found to have more than four times the legal maximum of alcohol in his system and was arrested.
He has been charged with manslaughter and several motoring offences. |
