According to the General Traffic Department, eighteen people died in road traffic accidents last weekend, twelve fewer than the same weekend last year.

Twelve others were injured, four of whom seriously.

Three of the fatal victims were riding high-powered motorbikes.

So far this year, 2,642 people have been killed on Spanish main roads and motorways, 270 less than 2006.
