| James Morrison has dropped out of the Rock in Río festival to work on his second album.
His place will be taken by Welsh rockers, Stereophonics, who will open proceedings on the World Stage on Friday, July 4th to warm up the audience for later performances by the likes of Amy Winehouse, Jamiroquai and Shakira.
Morrison is the second act to pull out of the event after Hombres G did the same a few weeks ago.

The line-up for the Rock in Rio festival was completed yesterday with the news that Bob Dylan will perform a set on the last day Sunday, July 6th. Other acts to confirm their attendance at the very last moment include David Guetta ('Love don't let me go', 'Just a little more love'), who will play in the Electronic tent on Friday, June 27th and Chus & Ceballos from Madrid (Friday, July 4th).
Tickets can still be obtained from El Corte Inglés stores, on-line (www.elcorteingles.es) or by phoning 902 400 222. Prices vary from between €49-69 euros for a one-day pass. Festival passes are not available. VIP tickets cost substantially more (€275).

Tickets to see Amy Winehouse at the Rock in Rio festival in Arganda del Rey on Friday 4th July will cost €69. Also performing on the main stage that day will be Jamiroquai and James Morrison while there will be techno tent sessions by djs Simon & Shaker, D-Formation and José Luis Magoya.
Winehouse recently won five of the six Grammy awards for which she was nominated and was named Best British Female Artist at the Brit Awards earlier this week.
Her second album 'Back to Black' (2006) has already sold more than six million copies worldwide.

Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand and former Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell join an already impressive line-up for this summer's Rock in Rio festival in Arganda del Rey that will be held over two weekends at the end of June and the start of July.
Other confirmed acts include The Police, Lenny Kravitz, Jamiroquai, James Morrison, Tokyo Hotel, Alejandro Sanz, El Canto del Loco, Hombres G, Carl Cox, Tïesto, Sasha John Digweed and Wally López.
Franz Ferdinand and Chris Cornell will share top billing on Sunday July 6th with Lenny Kravitz.
Full-day passes, which include access to the techno, extreme sports and fashion tents, are priced at €65 euros and will go on sale on February 28th.
Although this will be Spain's first Rock in Rio festival, it has already been staged successfully three times in Brazil and twice in Lisbon.

The Police will share top-billing with flamenco crooner, Alejandro Sanz, at the 'Rock in Rio' festival in Arganda del Rey (Madrid) on Saturday, 5th July.
Tickets for that night will cost €69 euros and go on sale on the 1st March.
The five-day festival will take place on consecutive weekends at the end of June and the start of July (27-28th June and the 4-5-6th July). Ticket prices vary according to strength of line-up.
The Police performed just one concert in Spain - in Barcelona on the 27th September - on their recent comeback tour that started in May last year to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the release of their first album.
Since the tour started, the band has performed 75 concerts and sold more than two million tickets.
The day before the Madrid date announced yesterday, the band will be headlining the 3rd Bilbao BBK Live festival in Kobetamendi (see link below).
