The identity of the 20 year old Brazilian woman found with her throat cut at her home in Pamplona during the early hours of this morning has been confirmed as Tatiele de Sousa Neres.

It has also been confirmed that she worked as a prostitute at the same Pamplona brothel where her 23 year old boyfriend, and suspected murderer, also worked.

His identity has been confirmed as Tiago Rosa Silva.

He is under police guard at Navarra Hospital where he was taken after throwing himself off a balcony at the fourth-floor flat he shared with the victim.

His condition is described as serious, but not life-threatening.

It seems that a 20 year old Brazilian woman found dead this morning was murdered by her boyfriend at the home they shared in Pamplona.

In an attempt to take his own life, her 23 year old Brazilian boyfriend jumped out of one of the windows of the flat which is on the fourth floor of a residential building on the Travesía Guelbenzu.

He survived, was arrested, then taken by ambulance to Navarra Hospital under police guard.

The incident occurred at around 4.20am when a concerned neighbour phoned the police, disturbed by a violent row in an adjoining flat.

The victim was found lying in a pool of blood with a knife wound to her neck.

Since the start of 2008, four women have been murdered in Spain in apparent domestic violence incidents.

All four presumed perpetrators are foreign (not Spanish).

Yesterday, a 33 year old Cuban man handed himself in to police after murdering his girlfriend and her 11 year old son in Alcalá de Henares (photo).

The first victim was a 42 year old British woman, who was murdered in Coín on the 4th January - her 59 year old German boyfriend was arrested and has since been charged.

Two days later - on the 6th January - a 26 year old Ukranian man was arrested in Torrevieja for the murder of his Russian girlfriend.
