| Water levels in Spain's reservoirs stand at 43.8% of their total capacity, well below the ten-year average for the end of January of 57.2%, the Environment ministry confirmed today.
The situation in Cataluña and the Ebro valley is of particular concern, although last week's rains raised levels slightly (+0.1%).
Rainfall last month (36.8 litres per square metre) was almost half the average of all years since 1930 (64.3 l/m2), but higher than January last year (33.9 l/m2). |
