| British musician Mike Oldfield will give a first public performance of his new album 'Music of the spheres' at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao on the 7th March, when he will be accompanied by the Euskadi Symphonic Orchestra and the Bilbao Choral Society.
Orchestra director Iñigo Alberdi has said that the event "has not been at all easy to organise," although this will not be the first time that the venue has been used for the same purpose.
Last year, to coincide with the museum's tenth anniversary, Bjork performed songs from the 'Volta' album, The Red Hot Chili Peppers debuted their ninth album 'Stadium Arcadium' in April 2006 while The Smashing Pumpkins set the ball rolling back in 1998 when they presented their fourth album 'Adore' at the museum. |
