The bodies of a woman and two children were found at their home in Tenerife yesterday evening shortly after the body of the dead woman's partner and the father of the two children had been found outside flats on the Vesubio residential estate in Adeje's Los Olivos district.

It seems that the man - a 48 year old Italian national - died at around 9pm CET (8pm local time) after jumping from the balcony of a second floor flat.

The blood-stained bodies of his 43 year old Belgian girlfriend and his two children (aged 6 and 8) were found inside.

All the evidence seems to suggest that the man killed himself after murdering his family.
