| A 43 year old male receptionist at the Alfonso IX Hotel in Sarria (Lugo) is in a serious, if not life-threatening, condition following surgery at the Juan Canalejo Hospital in A Coruña after being shot twice at point-blank range yesterday morning by a robber, who made off with around €1,000 euros in cash from the hotel cash register.
The incident occurred shortly after 7.30am when the robber, who was wearing a plastic mask, opened fire on the receptionist, who was hit once in the chest and once in the shoulder.
A police source indicated that they are investigating the possibility that the robber may have been a previous customer of either the hotel itself or the adjoining cafeteria. |
