| The Infanta Elena has become the first child of the Spanish king and queen to own a company. According to a report in yesterday's Cinco Días, the eldest child of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia bought Global Cinoscéfalos on the 10th December 2007, a month after her separation from her husband, the Duke of Lugo, was announced publicly.
The company, which was founded last August by Alejandro Latorre Atance, has a working capital of €3,600 euros and its commercial activities are registered as "accountancy and financial management, export development, market research" as well as "industrial and commercial projects through acquisition or share purchase."
There is no legal or constitutional impediment to the princess owning her own business, although this type of activity has hitherto been the exclusive domain of the husbands of the two royal sisters. |
