The identity of the man pulled from the sea by a Guardia Civil patrol off Playa de las Américas beach in Tenerife on the 16th February has been confirmed as Simon Lee Germán, a 42 year old British expat with Spanish residential status.
The man, who had been bathing and therefore not carrying any form of documentation, was identified from his fingerprints.
