| An autopsy carried out on a body found in tunnels beneath the Porta d'Es Camp wall in Palma de Mallorca last Saturday has failed to establish either the man's age, identity or cause of death.
Notwithstanding, the coroner said that no obvious signs of violence were found on the corpse and estimates that the man was in his early thirties.
Moreover, it is believed that the man, who was dressed in a pair of red Bermuda shorts, may have died last summer.
Investigators are going through recent unsolved missing persons cases and cross-checking DNA samples.
The victim, who was found in a sleeping position with his head resting on a blue T-shirt, was wearing a black digital watch on his left wrist and a chain bracelet on the other.

Five youths found the mummified corpse of a man in his thirties in tunnels beneath the Porta d'Es Camp wall on Palma's maritime promenade at around 5am yesterday morning.
The man was dressed in a pair of red Bermuda shorts and was found wearing a chain-link bracelet on his right wrist and a black digital watch on his left, which police hope will help identify him.
He was found lying on his front, as though he were asleep, with his head resting on a blue T-shirt.
The investigation has been passed to the Provincial Homicide Brigade. |
