| The recently-reopened extension to the Prado Museum in Madrid was closed yesterday afternoon after a fault was detected in the air-conditioning system.
The Claustro de los Jerónimos, which houses a collection of 19th century paintings, remains closed this morning although the rest of the museum is open for business as usual.
As a precautionary measure, a number of paintings by Sorolla, Fortuny, Rosales and Madrazo have been moved to "safe storage" though the museum's curators have explained in a statement that "at no time have any of the works of art exposed been affected by water filtration caused by the condensation."
