| A newborn baby girl found abandoned in a trailer in Mazagón shortly before midnight last Saturday is recovering from her ordeal at the neonatal clinic of the Juan Ramón Jiménez Hospital in Huelva.
She was found at 11.15pm by a local woman who called in the Guardia Civil after hearing a "strange wailing noise" coming from inside the unattended trailer.
It seems that the baby's umbilical cord had been clumsily severed and not tied, suggesting that she had not been born in hospital.
Doctors say the baby is now doing well, but was suffering from the initial symptoms of hypothermia and would probably not have survived until morning had she not been found. |
