| Orange level severe weather warnings have been issued for five regions in northeast Spain with gale-force winds and snow forecast today in Aragón, Navarra, Cataluña, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands.
Navarra and parts of the Basque country awoke under a thick blanket of snow this morning with temperatures plunging by ten degrees Centigrade overnight.
The stormy front is expected to begin to dissipate tomorrow, and to have completely cleared the peninsula by the weekend, although frost is forecast for many parts of inland Spain on Thursday and Friday mornings.
