| Spanish Eurovision hopeful Rodolfo Chikilicuatre will have to remove references to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, Mariano Rajoy, Hugo Chávez and King Juan Carlos from 'Baila el Chiki Chiki' to comply with competition regulations.
Fans have translated the original version of the song into a number of languages, including English (see below), and posted them on their website - http://chikifans.tumblr.com.
Dance the Chiki Chiki
Perrea! Perrea!
The Chiki-Chiki is really cool, It’s danced in China and also in Alcorcón.
Give that brunette chiki-chiki, Because chiki-chiki makes her so horney.
Jose Luis dances it, Hugo Chávez dances it. Mariano dances it, my love, you know. Brothers dance it, my brother dances it, my chick dances it with her knickers in her hand.
And the Chiki-Chiki is danced like this: One: the “breikindance”. Two: the crusaito. Three: the maiquelyason. Four: the robocop.
Dance the chiki-chiki, dance the chiki-chiki. Heavies dance it and so do freaks.
It’s danced in prison, it’s danced at school, My mum dances it and also my grandma.
Puma tiger dances it with its striped costume, And Juan Carlos says him “Why don’t you shut up?”
In Father Damián’s wake, Chiki-chiki was set and the dead body started to dance. To dance. To dance. To dance.
And the Chiki-Chiki is danced like this: One: the breikindance. Two: the crusaito. Three: the maiquelyason. Four: the robocop.
Spain picks spoof act for Eurovision finals By: thinkSPAIN Sunday, March 9, 2008
Rodolfo Chikilicuatre will represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade (May 24th) with 'Baila el chikichiki' (Dance the chikichiki) after being chosen in a public vote on the 'Salvemos Eurovisión' (Let's save Eurovision) programme on TVE last night.
Chikilicuatre, who said that the result demonstrates that "Spain has a sense of humour", is one of the comical characters on Andreu Buenafuente's La Sexta programme - he has a moustache, wears an exaggerated Elvis Presley wig, extra-large sideburns and extra-large glasses and pretends to play a tiny toy guitar.
Five of the ten finalists - Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, La Casa Azul, Arkaitz, Coral, Bizarre, Lorena C, Innata, Marzok Mangui, Ellas and D-Vinewere - chosen by more than two million internet voters on the MySpace website while the rest were picked by a panel of experts appointed by RTVE.
Despite doing well in all the polls, the winner was barracked throughout his performance by a small minority of the studio audience with cries of "Get off!" |
