| A 30 year old Moroccan woman whose waters broke yesterday afternoon as she was picking strawberries on a farm near Lepe, gave birth in an ambulance en route to Huelva's Infanta Elena Hospital after being initially rushed to a local health centre (photo) by car. The baby was born without complications and both she and her mother are doing fine.
José Antonio Rodríguez, who owns the company that employed the woman said that it was unfortunate that no one had picked up on the fact that the woman, who was back on the farm to help with the harvest for the third year in a row, was so heavily pregnant.
Mr Rodríguez confirmed that he has been in touch with the ASAJA agrarian association, who will make the necessary arrangements for the repatriation of the woman and her newborn daughter as soon as they are well enough to travel. |
