Sergeant Miguel Ángel Movina is recovering at the Spanish base in Istok after being slightly injured yesterday as UN forces moved to re-take a UN courthouse in Mitrovica occupied since last Friday by hundreds of Kosovo Serbs.

The violence began after 53 Serbs were arrested.

It seems that Movina was hit by shrapnel from a hand grenade thrown by scores of protesters also armed with stones and petrol bombs.

A Ukranian policeman also injured by a hand grenade during yesterday's clashes, has since died of his injuries.

Doctors say that one Serbian demonstrator, who was shot in the head, is in a coma and fighting for his life.

In total, 70 demonstrators and 30 international soldiers were injured.
