| Barça striker Bojan Krkic scored a spectacular goal with an audacious scissors kick as the Spanish U21 side booked their place in the playoff stage ahead of next summer's Euro 2009 finals in Sweden with an uncompromising 5-0 thrashing of Kazakhstan at the El Mauli stadium in Antequera (Málaga) last night.
Spain's other goals were scored by Capel, Mata, Jurado and Callejón (Real Madrid-Castilla).
Spain now top Group 4 with five straight wins, having scored fifteen goals and conceded none. Their next game will be at home against second-placed Russia on August 20th.
Liverpool's Fernando Torres has now recovered from the rather rough treatment meted out to him during last Sunday's disappointing 3-0 defeat to Manchester Utd at Old Trafford, and is fit to start as Spain take on Italy in a friendly international in Elche this evening. |
