| Human remains have been discovered during renovation work to a building in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid) which, until recently, used to belong to the Parachute Brigade.
According to a report in yesterday's El País, it is believed that the mass grave may date back to the end of the Spanish Civil War when the building was used as a jail to hold more than 2,000 radical communist prisoners who refused to lay down their arms after the Republicans surrendered in 1939. |
