A 46 year old Moroccan woman was shot dead yesterday at her bar in Ciudad Rodrigo (Salamanca) by her 64 year old boyfriend, who handed himself over to the Guardia Civil almost immediately afterwards.

The incident occurred shortly after midday at the Lisboa bar on the Avendia Portugal, which the victim had taken possession of just a few weeks ago.

It seems that the assailant, who lives in nearby Fuenteginaldo, entered the bar carrying a hunting rifle concealed in a bag and told everyone to get out, shortly after which the fatal shot rang out.

Elsewhere, the body of a 45 year old woman was found yesterday on As Lapas beach at the foot of the Torre de Hercules lighthouse in A Coruña though no further details are known at this stage.

Also, police in Valencia are investigating the apparently violent death of an elderly woman at her home Sueca, who, it is believed, may have been killed by burglars.
