Five lorries and a rear-mounted digger were destroyed in what is believed to have been a deliberate arson attack on a locked facility in Ponteceso (A Coruña) belonging to the López Cao construction company that took place during the early hours of yesterday morning.

A company representative explained that a cement mixer and a vat of asphalt were also consumed in the blaze.

None of the damaged assets can be salvaged and the company estimates the total damage at around €360,000 euros.

Investigators have identified at least four points of origin, which suggests that the fire is unlikely to have been accidental.
