| This week's much-needed persistent rainfall has been causing minor inconvenience across the country with the northwest, the Canary Islands and the south bearing the brunt.
In Huelva province to the extreme west of the Andalucía region, the fishing fleet was unable to leave port and a number of main roads were affected by flooding - as were several streets in the towns of Isla Cristina and Escacena del Campo and a warehouse in Ayamonte.
Drainage problems in Córdoba saw 26 of the city's streets partially flooded, and the rain is putting a dampener on the start of Sevilla's Feria de Abril celebrations (photo).
In the northwest, Lugo province has been one of the hardest-hit areas - a group of holidaymakers had to be evacuated from a rural chalet in Cervo, several minor roads near the towns of Ribadeo, Foz and Viveiro were closed by flooding, and in Lugo city-centre, the floods caused part of a wall to collapse.
Further rain is forecast across the country over the weekend, though southeasterly coastal areas are once again predicted to escape with only occasional light showers. |
