A 60 year old German woman died of a heart attack at Madrid's Barajas airport earlier today shortly after deplaning from an Iberia flight from Santiago de Chile. The incident occurred in the Terminal Four transit area for international passengers.

The woman, who was travelling with her husband, landed at 7am and was on her way to catch a connecting flight to their final destination - Frankfurt.

Before the arrival of airport medical staff, she was treated by one of her fellow passengers, who is a doctor.
