A 22 year old man has died after collapsing during a football match at the Monte Romero sports centre on the Espinardo campus of Murcia University at around 11.20am this morning.

The first emergency medics on the scene worked for around a quarter of an hour to revive the patient, after which he was intubated and rushed to the Reina Sofía Hospital in the regional capital, where he was declared dead around half an hour after being admitted following further attempts to resuscitate him, which also proved unsuccessful.
