| The Spanish International Cooperation Agency for Development (AECID) has organised for a transport plane loaded with thirteen tonnes of humanitarian aid materials to depart Torrejón de Ardoz military air base outside Madrid today bound for Burma to help the victims of Cyclone Nargis.
The aid package, which includes basic medicines for 10,000 people, water sterilisation tablets, anti-diarrhoea treatments, 3,600 collapsible water containers, 2,000 mosquito nets and body bags, will arrive at Bangkok international airport where it will be handed over to the UN, who are handling the local distribution operation. |
